I often say that “the hardest thing you will ever do in your life… is change it”. And while that may be true, it keeps our minds focused on the difficulty of the task. If we focus on the burning legs at the gym, or the cramping in our hands while we write, the experience may seem daunting, and we may prematurely quit.
Anyone who has ever come out on the other side of a difficult situation will tell you that while they may not want to repeat it, there are much better off for it. So, while the hardest thing you will ever do in your life is change it, it’s also important to realize that the most REWARDING thing you will ever do in your life, is change it.
When the muscles burn, when the stress seems too much, when the work seems daunting and the task unsure, just remember, there is light on the other side. There is hope now. There is peace that comes through perseverance.
Keep on moving. Keep pushing. If you stop when the weight is bearing down, it can crush you. Step by step, just “keep moving forward” as Walt Disney used to say. Most importantly, you probably won’t be able to do it alone. Enlist others who believe in your dream and yolk together toward the goal.
